The second film: Krishna lifts Govardhan Hill and shelters all of Vrindavan under it.
Full text of the story
The second film: Krishna asks the village to honour Govardhan Hill instead of Indra, and the king of heaven answers with a storm meant to wash Vrindavan away. Krishna lifts the whole hill on the little finger of His left hand and holds it for seven days, while the villagers stand underneath with their cows and carts.
The film ends the way the scripture does — not with a punishment, but with Indra coming down, bowing, and giving Krishna the name Govinda.
If your child has our play set, this is the story to act out afterwards: a cushion under a green blanket makes a good hill.
